Química de Coordinación: Diseño y síntesis de ligantes polidentados cíclicos y aciclicos basados en heterociclos y sus compuestos de coordinación con metales de transición. Síntesis de complejos heterometálicos multinucleares para aplicaciones en catálisis. Nanodispositivos y sensores multifuncionales a partir de polímeros de coordinación y redes metal-orgánicas (MOFs)

Magnetoquímica: Complejos con propiedades de entrecruzamiento de espín (spin crossover) y con propiedades de tautomería de valencia, multinucleares y poliméricos, para la construcción de nano-dispositivos, sensores y aplicaciones biomédicas.

Química Organometálica: Síntesis de complejos derivados de carbeno N-heterocíclicos y sus aplicaciones en reacciones catalíticas relevantes (transferencia de hidrógeno, oxidaciones catalíticas, activación de enlaces inertes).

 

 

Cambio en la susceptibilidad magnética de un compuesto dinuclear de hierro(II) al variar la temperatura (T) al ocurrir un evento SCO con histéresis (figura izquierda) y representación esquemática en el cambio de volumen de un complejo de hierro(II) al pasar del estado de AS (mayor volumen) al BS (menor volumen, figura derecha).
